For the past four weeks, our Therm-Liner \u2013 designed for a heat extraction capacity of 360 kW \u2013 has been supplying thermal energy to the Stadionstra\u00dfe heating plant, from where it is fed into the town\u2019s district heating network via three large heat pumps. Around 53 buildings (including the university, music school, Cobe sports hall, hotels, the cinema complex and the In W\u00f6hrden residential area) are already supplied with thermal energy in this way, and this number could increase in the future. <br \/>The heat is extracted from the sewer in Nendinger Allee, which lies on the other side of the Danube; the service pipes that carry the heat to the heat pumps were laid using a flush drilling method.<br \/>The wastewater heat now complements the existing wood chip plant and makes a valuable contribution to the heat supply, moving away from fossil fuels and towards renewable energy.
