17.03.2026 Tuttlingen: Wastewater heat at the touch of a button

Press event in Tuttlingen: the new wastewater heat recovery plant is being officially commissioned. For the past four weeks, our Therm-Liner – designed for a heat extraction capacity of 360 kW – has been supplying thermal energy to the Stadionstraße heating plant, from where it is fed into the town’s district heating network via three large heat pumps. Around 53 buildings (including the university, music school, Cobe sports hall, hotels, the cinema complex and the In Wöhrden residential area) are already supplied with thermal energy in this way, and this number could increase in the future.
The heat is extracted from the sewer in Nendinger Allee, which lies on the other side of the Danube; the service pipes that carry the heat to the heat pumps were laid using a flush drilling method.
The wastewater heat now complements the existing wood chip plant and makes a valuable contribution to the heat supply, moving away from fossil fuels and towards renewable energy. This is a flagship project for Stadtwerke Tuttlingen.

We would like to thank you for the excellent cooperation!
