08.09.2026 A small but symbolic project: wastewater heat for Ettlingen Municipal Utilities (SWE)

As a municipal energy supplier, Stadtwerke Ettlingen is sending a clear signal in support of the local heating transition: for the extension to its own administration and operations building on Lindenweg, it is using heat from the sewer directly on its doorstep – made possible by our UHRIG Therm-Liner system!

In order to meet modern workplace requirements and create additional jobs for the growing workforce of Stadtwerke and its network subsidiary (SWE Netz GmbH), the existing office and operations building is being refurbished and extended with a new, modern office wing.

Our project in Ettlingen is a very special highlight in UHRIG’s history: it impressively demonstrates that the recovery of wastewater heat is by no means restricted to large-scale megawatt projects, but is also economically viable for individual buildings and commercial premises on a case-by-case basis!

Measuring just 8 metres in length and with an active heat exchanger surface area of 6 square metres, this system is one of our most compact yet most efficient installations.

It was the 2025 year-end audit engagement for UHRIG Energie GmbH.
